Sustainable materials have a low energy cost in their production with biotic characteristics: they are natural (easily manufactured), healthy (toxic and radioactive free), durable, recyclable, reusable or biodegradable, breathable (permeable to water vapor and air) and hygroscopic (capable of absorbing, retaining and evaporating moisture), they represent an enormous contribution to sustainable development in the construction industry.
